Community Support for New Features

There’s an app that I have which doesn’t have ads anywhere, but has a button to choose to watch a few ads to vote for a feature, essentially crowdfunding it without the crowd spending any money.
I think it’d be nice as a way to see what features people are willing to put their time into, even if (being students,) they don’t have money to spend.
