Completed assignments still pop up in the notifications

The in-browser notification notifies me for assignments that I’ve already completed. I also dropped a class at the beginning of the semester and it never unscheduled the reminders so I kept getting notifications for a class I no longer had on my canvas page. Additionally, clicking on the notification attempts to open xdg-open instead of opening the tab for the assignment.
